Gerrard Martin is seeking a producer for his new dance-theatre work.
Gerrard has an hour-long dance-theatre piece, which is entitled 'Any Last Words...?' The piece has 3 performers - two dancers and a spoken word artist/beat boxer who creates the sound track using a loop station. The piece is stimulated by the Black Lives Matter campaign, police brutality, and real life experiences from the cast who have and are negotiating racism.
The piece had an R&D period in Sept 2016 which was ACE-funded; previous to the the R&D period, Gerrard worked with one dancer to work through ideas and vocabulary.
Any Last Words...? was shared with students from the University of Northampton, and it also had two sharings at the Rambert Studios to a audience of creatives, colleagues and friends. Gerrard gathered feedback from all the sharings, which were on the whole emotional, encouraging and welcoming.
Gerrard has provisionally secured two venues to tour the work to in Autumn 2017, and is in talks with other venues i.e.the Albany, ELD, BAC, and the Southbank Centre are interested in the work.
Gerrard requires a producer to:
- Write an ACE grant application - to finance the tour
- Liaise, book and correspond with venues
- Book travel and accommodation if needed
- Find opportunities to future the life/reach of Any Last Words..?
The fee is to be determined by the producer.
